Transport for Greater Manchester announced on October 6, 2026 that Apple users of all ages can buy selected Bee Network bus and tram tickets directly in Apple Wallet and store them on a Bee Card. The expansion follows the earlier Our Pass integration for eligible young residents.
The announcement lists eight adult and family ticket options: 1-day Bee Bus, off-peak 1-day Bee Bus Family, 7-day Bee Bus, all-zone Weekend Tram, all-zone 7-day Tram, all-zone Weekend Tram Family, all-zone 1-day Bus + Tram and all-zone 7-day Bus + Tram. This is a specified ticket selection, not proof that every fare product is available in Wallet.
To add a card, open Apple Wallet, tap the plus button, select Travel Card and choose Bee Network. After choosing and purchasing a ticket, passengers can tap an iPhone or Apple Watch on the bus reader or the reader at the tram platform. The release says iOS 27 is the minimum operating system for Bee Card in Apple Wallet.
With Express Mode enabled, passengers do not need to wake or unlock the device or open an app to use the card. The operator lists iPhone XR or later and Apple Watch Series 6 or later for Express Mode, and says only one digital Bee Card can have Express Mode enabled at a time.
The prepaid Bee Card is different from the network's Tap and Go system. Passengers can still use a credit or debit card in Apple Wallet for Tap and Go. They can also buy tickets in the Bee Network app, which includes journey planning, live bus tracking and travel alerts.
Our Pass remains an eligibility-based program: it provides free bus travel and discounted tram travel to eligible 16-to-18-year-olds resident in Greater Manchester. Opening paid Bee Card purchases to users of all ages does not extend free Our Pass travel to everyone.
The operator describes Greater Manchester as the first UK location where bus and tram tickets can be bought directly in Apple Wallet. That is the operator's claim. We have not tested a live purchase or journey; users should check their chosen ticket, device and route before travel.
