Thermal Throttling Plagues Alienware 16X Aurora

Dell's 2026 Alienware 16X Aurora gaming laptop pairs the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with an NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti, priced between $2,200 and $3,550. Extensive lab testing reveals sustained framerates degrade by up to 22% over 30-minute gaming sessions due to thermal throttling. Rival machines with thicker vapor-chamber cooling, such as the Lenovo Legion 7 and Asus ROG Strix, maintain higher sustained performance at lower price points.
