Google announced Gemini 4 Argon on October 13, 2026. The company says the model is rolling out globally through the paid Gemini API in AI Studio and Android Studio, enterprise channels, Google Antigravity, the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. Access depends on the product and subscription, not simply on having a free Google account.
The announcement lists introductory API prices of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input tokens at 95 percent off. Its footnote says prices become $4 and $20 per million respectively after the introductory period expires on November 30, 2026. Those are model usage prices, not consumer subscription prices.
The developer page identifies the stable model as gemini-4-argon. It accepts text, images, video, audio and PDF inputs and produces text. The page explicitly says audio generation, image generation and the Live API are not supported. Multimodal input does not mean the model generates every media type.
The API documentation gives a unified input-output limit of 1,048,576 tokens. Default synchronous output is capped at 65,536 tokens, while long decode can use up to the unified limit. Developers should check the continuation and migration documentation before assuming that the larger limit is available through an unchanged request.
Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can access Argon in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. The announcement lists Ultra access for Antigravity. It also offers selected scientists six months of its highest Antigravity usage tier, but that program is subject to eligibility, capacity and selection rather than guaranteed access for every applicant.
Limits: Google's benchmark rankings, internal engineering examples and safety figures are vendor-reported results, not independent tests by this site. The model card describes known limitations and mitigations. Neither the launch nor a benchmark score guarantees accurate legal, financial, scientific or security decisions; access terms and product limits still need checking.
