OpenAI announced on October 7, 2026 that GPT-6 with Intelligent UI is starting a global rollout in ChatGPT's Chat tab. Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise tiers begin receiving it today. The rollout expands to Free and Go tiers on October 8, and Enterprise access depends on workplace administrator settings.
The company says GPT-6 Sol powers the paid tiers in this release, while GPT-6 Luna powers Free and Go. OpenAI introduced its first GPT-6 models to paid customers last month, so today's news is the broader ChatGPT rollout and the new response format, rather than the first announcement of the model family.
Intelligent UI lets ChatGPT compose responses with text, visuals and interactive elements. OpenAI gives examples including tappable buttons, forms, charts, interactive diagrams and calculators that work within a conversation. The system can still return plain text when that is the useful format.
OpenAI describes a library of native, streamable components and a compiler that processes the interface as the model generates it. Responses can therefore appear progressively instead of waiting for a complete interface. These are the developer's descriptions, not results from our own testing.
The release applies to the Chat experience. OpenAI explicitly says the models powering Work and Codex are not changing as part of it. The announcement does not establish an API launch for Intelligent UI.
Users should distinguish a rollout starting from universal availability. Paid access begins first, Free and Go follow on October 8, and workplace settings can affect Enterprise access.
