Reports: Nvidia has raised the price of the Shield TV Pro streaming box by $100, according to Wired's republication of an Ars Technica story dated October 3, 2026.
The outlet quotes an Nvidia spokesperson: "Starting October 2, SHIELD Pro will be priced at $299. The cost of components, including memory, has increased substantially across the industry." The most recent Shield hardware launched in 2019 at $199.99 for the Pro model, and the outlet says the lower-priced non-Pro model has since been discontinued.
The report says the Shield TV Pro still runs a Tegra X1+ processor and Android TV. It says the box is out of stock on Nvidia's store but available at the new price from Best Buy, and that stock has been slim for several months.
The story ties the increase to broader memory pricing and notes that game console makers have also raised prices on current hardware. Price and stock details are as reported by the outlet on October 3 and may change.
