Apple CEO John Ternus and former CEO Tim Cook both posted tributes to Steve Jobs on X on October 5, 2026, the 15th anniversary of his death.
Ternus wrote: "The way Steve taught us to care about every detail, every experience, every person, still guides our work today. Forever grateful." AppleInsider reports it is the first time Ternus has joined Cook in posting on the anniversary.
Cook wrote: "There are people who leave a mark on the world, and then there are people who change it entirely. Steve changed the world and so many lives in the process. He certainly changed my life forever. His spirit lives on in everything he created and everyone he inspired."
Jobs died on October 5, 2011, at age 56, the day after Apple introduced the iPhone 4s. MacRumors notes that Apple still maintains its "Remembering Steve" page, which holds more than one million submissions from the public, and that it marked the first anniversary with a photo and audio slideshow.
What to watch: MacRumors expected Apple to mark the day on its own website, as it has before. At the time of writing, no Apple page update has been confirmed.
